Ron "Mr. Bearbull"
Nathan With
more than 50 years of market experience under his belt, Ron Nathan is
definitely someone who could be regarded as a market veteran. Ron was
born and raised in Great Britain. He graduated at the London University
with a degree in Math, Chemistry and Physics. A mathematician by heart,
he also studied one year of Accountancy. From 1965 to 1975, he worked as
the head of the Trustee department at Laing and Cruickshank, now Credit
Lyonnais. Realizing that timing should be a significant part of
picking stocks, he transferred to another firm to work as a Technical
Analyst. Sometime
thereafter, he published a book called Technical Analysis of Market
Trends. He also wrote a book about cost averaging on mutual
funds. He came to the Philippines in 1980 but only started to work in
the local stock market industry in 1996. During that time, he started
working for All Asia Capital and was the firm's top broker from 1996 to
1998. He also worked for local brokerages such as G.K. Goh Securities
and A.B. Capital. Currently, Ron is now the Technical Analyst of Abacus
Securities. He maintains a daily "for subscription basis only"
newsletter. Finally, he is also a regular columnist at the Philippine Daily
Inquirer, wherein he is popularly known as "Mr.
Bearbull".
