Just
yesterday, I bet everybody is so sick and tired of the market already.
Today, it's like you just want to shoot anything that moves. That's how
quick sentiment can change. The trend, however, doesn't change as fast.
Huli
ka! - Those who bought IMI at 68.00 this morning. At 68.00, market cap
of the stock is already a whopping P83 billion.
In
my newsletter, I've been advising people to start going to Boracay
already. Tomorrow, I'll follow my own advise. :-)
Jan 27, 2010
Spectacular move on SMDC today. I heard Henry Sy wants to be the next
JAP (hahaha).
Do
you know why the market is so weak? Margin calls!!!
I'm
singing to the tune of Ms. Karen Carpenter, "We've only just begun...."
Jan 26, 2010
Could that be the rally already? Yoikes!!
Jan 25, 2010
JAP
may have just put the lights out on NI today. Hayy, I just don't trust anything
that goes up anymore right now. It's funny cause I know the market's
going to drop yet I still get hit. I guess we've all been so used to
buying the dips for the last 10 months that it's so hard to let go of
the habit. I think there will be a rally though in the next one or two
days as we are now extremely oversold. I'm just not so confident that
it'll be a big one as everyone is now dying to get out on the next
rally.
Ramon Ang has done it again with CYBR. How the hell was he able to
negotiate buying the stock at P0.12/share?! Saludo ako sa kaniya unlike
the other guy who has a habit of buying at the peak.
The
price behavior of VLL and PO tells me that Manny will lose in the
elections.
The
Super Bowl indicator is pointing to a bullish 2010 as a team from the
NFL won. In the 43 years that the Super Bowl has been played, the
indicator has been right 81% of the time. I hope this isn't a repeat of
2008 when the New York Giants won that year.

Finally! The Golden Moment of the Bears has arrived! Repent! The End is
HERE!!!
Market getting spooked by MER. I hope we still have electricity tomorrow
(haha).
Only
one stock in the entire market is looking very interesting to me right
now - JAP's very own NI.
Jan 21, 2010
IBM
reported earnings, which was again better than expected, but what did
the Dow do? It plunged by 200 points before recovering a third of its
drop by the close. A lot of issues are now on "sell on news" behavior in
the US.
I
heard JAP's Market Mirror will be holding a meeting tomorrow. That's
probably why his stocks are surging right now. I don't think he would
want to face his fans with his stocks at a two month low.
UW
faces dissolution as rehab collapses. I really pity all those who got
stuck with this one. I think you can start writing this off from your
portfolio. :-(
New
playground, IMI, ceiling today. Where the hell is this one going?
I
made more money today when the Dow was down a lot compared with
yesterday when the Dow was up a lot. Let's all hope the Dow drops big
time again tonight (hahaha).
Jan 20, 2010
Repent! The End is Near!!! ...need I say more?
Jan 19, 2010
In
an editorial in PDI, Mr. Den Somera wrote a very bearish analysis on MRC,
yet, the stock still went up today. Could his analysis be right or
wrong?
ABA
and ATNB bloated the value turnover of the market today as both issues
had about P300 million worth of cross transaction each. Pansinin nyo
naman daw!
While I knew that the news yesterday that the "no tender offer" of MER
would be bullish for MPI, I certainly did not expect it to go to 3.00
today. Something is definitely cooking with this one based on its
behavior today.
A
good friend of mine, who has been accumulating JOH for the last couple
of weeks now, is finally getting rewarded for his patience.
Congratulations dude!
Will
the Dow still rebound from current levels? Our market seems to think
that it won't.
Jan 18, 2010
Despite the better than expected earnings from Intel and JP Morgan, the
Dow plunged by 3 digits last Friday night. Why did the market to do
that? There's only one explanation - the price has discounted it
already. More to come this week. Yoikes!
JAP
was at it again on his Market Mirror, yet, his magnificent 7 continued
to plunge.
SEC
stated that there won't be any tender offer in MER. What did you
expect?! The news is obviously bearish for MER but maybe bullish for MPI,
assuming, of course, that MVP won't go into another buying spree at the
highs.
Today's headlines in the Philippine Daily Inquirer is, "Draft Senate
report seeks Villar censure". Your timing boys are just so impeccable.
It's embarrassing. It's just too obvious!
There were only four stand-outs today, AGI, ANI, FPH and MRC. The rest
of the market is in a deep sleep.
The
next two or three days will be very, very critical to the survival of
the bulls. If the markets rebound, then, a new high may still be
possible. But if it doesn't, then, we go back to, "Repent!..."
Jan 15, 2010
My
computer crashed yesterday, thus, I haven't been answering my email
messages for the last three days now. How can I live without my
notebook? I took it to the shop and they say that I'll be able to get it
in 2 to 3 weeks time (huhuhu). I'm using my old notebook right now.
I
wonder if the insiders of DFNN have been reading my blog. :-)
With
regards to MIH, I hope Cristiano Ronaldo doesn't arrive yet. You saw
what happened to TBGI? Remember BW? (I hope you guys aren't taking me
seriously on this one - hahaha)
Some
people are saying that I am being too bearish of the market. Well,
here's my analogy of it: At 1684, it was like a new born child. At 3118,
it's now a grandfather at 80. It's almost impossible to say if he'll
still live 'til 90 or even 100 but, at that age, you certainly need to
prepare for the inevitable. I was definitely surprised that he lived
'til 80 but it won't be long now before I could finally get his
inheritance (haha). For the meantime, let's just all try to enjoy his
company while he's still alive. What can we do if the family doesn't
want to pull the plug in his respirator (excess liquidity)? By the way,
I'm guessing that he'll reach 85 because of his daily dose of steroids (PLDT).
Of course, heart attacks can happen anytime without warning.
Mr.
Francis Lim resigned as Head of the PSE. Maybe he couldn't take it
anymore.
My
prayers go the victims of the earthquake in Haiti.
Jan 14, 2010
Is
it just me or is the market really getting trickier and trickier to
trade? I think the indices are no longer showing what's really happening
in the market.
Something's cooking with MIH. I heard rumors that Cristiano Ronaldo
would be visiting the PSE tomorrow (hahaha).
I'd
like to congratulate my friend who had a ton of shares in PO. Thanks for
the steak boss! :-)
Jan 13, 2010
A
friend of mine is jumping for joy right now because his biggest position
has finally moved - PO. Manny for President!!!
Those who bought DFNN yesterday should sue that company if that deal
with that Macao-based Company doesn't push thru. The PSE should look
into this case very carefully. If not, any Company can just create some
flimsy disclosure in the future about someone who is willing to buy the
Company at exorbitantly high prices just so that he can sell his
positions at high prices. In my opinion, these people may be making a
mockery out of the PSE. Hands down ako if that deal does push thru.
TBGI
has been very, very strong recently. I heard rumors that the Prince is
coming to town! The big boys in HDI are currently doing the dance of
joy!
Jan 12, 2010
I
had a lousy day in trading today. I bought three strong stocks yesterday
and none of it went up today. I ended up selling some of it and losing
half of my gains for the year. Something just isn't right here.
DFNN
just disclosed yesterday that some Macao-based Company is willing to buy
the stock at P25.00/share. Why the hell would anyone be willing to buy
the stock at 25 when you could hardly sell any shares at 10 before this
disclosure came along. In my opinion, something is very fishy with that
one. Be careful Tsupiteros!
Earnings season has arrived in the US with Alcoa being the first one to
report last night. It missed estimates because maybe expectations are
now quite high. Analysts were expecting the Company to make 6 cents a
share. Instead, they lost 27 cents per share. I hope this is not a sign
of things to come.
Jan 11, 2010
I
am shocked with Atlas. Congratulations to all those who made money on
that one, especially that guy from Kings Power! I'm not touching that
one though at current levels.
I am
getting dizzy with MRC. Someone is definitely regretting having sold at
the lows on this one last Friday.
I
heard JAP is sick right now. Isn't it obvious? haha
Nice
bullish behavior on the US markets last Friday as it was still able to
go up despite that bearish employment report. Could 11k really be on the
cards right now? I'm still looking for a peak in the markets but maybe
not quite yet.
Jan 8, 2010
I
think I spoke too soon about the magnificent 7. Don't worry Jap, I still
love you! Muah!!!
Could that be Chucky getting out of MRC? I wonder why he's in such a
hurry to dispose. Rumor has it that the PSE has its eyes on this one
right now.
Someone from Tower Securities made a lot of mullah in LIB. Whoever you
are, you da man!
The
Darling of the PSE has just been replaced once again. The new Darling is
now CYBR! Could RSA be serious this time around?
Jan 7, 2010
The
moral of the day - Don't make JAP angry! I love you JAP! muah!!!
MRC,
can they still push it to One Peso? With so many other stocks moving, I
think the play in this one is over. LIB is now the new Darling of the
PSE.
Some
people stated that today's advance in the market was across the board.
Was it really? Take a closer look. Stock selection is of foremost
importance right now. For those who are into mutual funds and EITFs,
you'll die of boredom here.
Jan 6, 2010
MRC
is still the Darling at the moment. Can they push it to One Peso? I
think that's what they are aiming for.
JAP's magnificent 7, not so magnificent anymore. Breakdown or
opportunity to buy low?
Foreign funds have been net long in our market quite significantly in
the last couple of days. But why isn't our market reacting strongly?
So
many questions and puzzles right now. I love it! :-)
Jan 5, 2010
I
had a lot of fun with MRC today. It's basura wonderland once again.
I
bet both the bulls and the bears are getting frustrated with this
market. The bulls are frustrated because their positions aren't really
going up (Dow was up 155 points and what did your stock do?). The bears
are frustrated as well because the markets just doesn't want to die. If
you buy into this market, you will be tend to be very nervous because
you know that prices are already high. If you stay liquid, you get
envious of people who are making money. For those in the US, if you
short-sell the market, it's like you're getting in front of a runaway
train. So, what do we do? I hate this part of the trend.
Jan 4, 2010
There was no other game in town this morning except MRC. I don't know if
this is good or bad but I heard rumors this morning that this stock will
now be a Chucky stock.
Mt.
Mayon failed to explode over the weekend but our market thinks it did.
They say that the first trading day of the year will dictate the
performance of the market for the rest of the year. If that's the case,
then, I sure hope they'll make an exception this year.
